Sharing you pictures during the opening of our first food cart – Ginataang Bilo Bilo & Mais located inside All Day Supermarket – Vista Mall Las Pinas.

It’s the weekend! And I have the chance to prepare my husband’s packed lunch. He’s working until Saturday, btw.
I just have the limited resource though, whatever is in the refrigerator. I have found hotdogs and sausages which I cut into pieces, pan-fried and put Jufran Sriracha Ketchup. I made scrambled eggs, fried Orlian (Kikiam) and put some orange slices to complete my Bento box.
So, below is the output. My youngest son also woke up so early with me. Enjoy!
We ate at All4U Unlimited Grill & Shabu Shabu last weekend and part of their menu is the Melona Ice Cream for dessert. Since my kids are not into Korean grill yet, we have decided to give them the Melona ice cream instead. And below shows how they enjoyed their first taste of the Korean ice cream on a stick. Let me know if you think otherwise. 😀
While waiting for the car wash to finish, I went to this mobile food cart located on the sidewalk offering Japanese and Filipino cuisine – Gyoza, Ramen, Kaysu, Dotonbori, Pinoy barbeque, etc.
I didn’t expect much on this store because of the cheap prices of their menu. But I am amazed with their Gyoza! For just Php 50.00, I was able to eat 4 pcs and i like its crunchy wrapper and savory filling on the inside. It was delicious!
I also ordered Miso Ramen for to go. It was just alright for the price of Php 110.00. Ramen normally costs Php 350.00 to Php 600.00 in restaurants. So I just got what I paid for but decent enough to satisfy your Ramen cravings.
Next time I will go to this place, I would definitely order Gyoza again. 🙂
SO check out their menu below and some of the pictures I have taken. Enjoy!
I have searched all over Facebook and Instagram to find the best fit for a cake supplier. My eldest, Rian, wanted to have a Paw Patrol inspired cake for his 4th birthday. Needless to say that he is a fan of the said Nick Jr. cartoon show and the whole canine gang especially Marshall. 😀
Going back to my search for the best cake supplier, I listed below criteria on my mind:
Aesthetics – or the presentation of the supplier’s previously made cakes or cake portfolio
Good reviews – this is where I gauge how the cakes taste even without tasting it myself haha
Accessibility – location should be manageable
Open communication – since my son wants a customized cake, the supplier should be very open to my ideas; and last but not the least
I think the first and the last criteria are the more important ones haha
I happened to see Tip-top Desserts in Instagram, their cake portfolio is great and beautiful. Most of the cakes posted in their IG account were made for kids’ birthday. Plus they make cupcakes, too! So big CHECK for the first criteria!
Also in Instagram, I have read some of the reviews in each of the cake post and there is always a comment saying that the cake was enjoyed by the buyer and/or their party visitors. Another CHECK for the second criteria!
Tip-top Desserts is located in Los Banos, Laguna which is 55 kilometers away from the place where we reside and 61.3 kilometers from Savoy Hotel Manila where we are staying on the date of delivery (one day before the birthday party aka family gathering). It is not really accessible that I can drop by anytime to pick up the cake so we agreed to meet up somewhere. They cannot go directly to the hotel because they commute by provincial bus from Laguna and the nearest feasible drop off area is in Magallanes so I have to drive around 7 kms to go to the meet-up place. Not accessible but we find ways, just a little effort for the dream cake to turn into a reality. ❤
I still admire Tip-toe Desserts for being passionate in serving their customers even though they have to commute for 4 hours back and forth from their place just to deliver the cake. Because if they happen to be lazy, they would just ignore my purchase request.
We communicate over direct Instagram messages and the conversation did not happen in just 1 day since we have to agree on a lot of aspects (price, design, packaging, delivery date, etc). I sent them the picture of the Paw Patrol cake that my Son personally chose and the cute cupcake toppers that I picked from Pinterest. So, I would give them a CHECK for giving time answering my inquiries, easy confirmation on the design and for being pleasant up to the delivery date.
I must say, they are the most affordable supplier I have talked to during the searching phase. I have inquired to around 7 cake suppliers and their offer worked better with our budget. So another big CHECK for the Affordability!
I ordered two-tiered cake (8×4 on the base and 6×4 on the second layer) plus 2 dozens cupcakes. Both cake and cupcakes are chocolate flavored. I paid for Php 4,000 in total with the breakdown as follows:
Php 2,600.00 – Fondant Cake
Php 1,000.00 – 2 Dozens Fondant Cupcakes
Php 400.00 – Handling/Delivery
So, there ended my search for Rian’s Birthday Cake supplier. It was a huge success because he really liked it! It was almost the same as the picture we sent as a reference. I liked it too because both cake and cupcakes were yummy, true to what I have read from the comments/ reviews. The cake is moist, the white layer filling in between tastes like milk and the fondant has about the right sweetness (not the cringy one haha).
Below are the additional snaps that I was able to take during the party. Enjoy!

The minute I saw this Japanese restaurant yesterday at the upper ground floor of Southmall, I wanted to try it right away. The price is just the same with restaurants offering unlimited Samgyupsal.
What’s new with Sumo Niku is that they have this variant of beef rolled in Enoki mushroom and it will be a sure winner for those mushroom lovers. The sweetness of enoki mushroom added flavor to the beef. Another something to look forward is their cheese dip. Cheese dip is getting popular with Samgyupsal restos but the ones I’ve tried provide quick melt cheese and evaporated milk. But here in Sumo Niku, they are providing mozzarella cheese. Yes, you read it right. Mozzarella cheese! I think you should sprinkle it on top of the meat than letting it melt in the container. It tends to harden if it stayed longer in the heat. They also have miso soup with bits of seaweed and tofu. Their side dishes are cucumber, sweet potato, sweet corn kernels, steamed egg (but seems to be unavailable when we visit), kimchi, cheese balls, etc.
The quality of Sumo Niku’s meats are great. They both look and taste fresh. For their price of Php 499, you will get to enjoy beef, pork and chicken. I didn’t try their chicken as we really helped ourselves with all the beef and some of the pork variants. It was a great dining experience and I am surely be coming back. I definitely recommend this new dining place in Southmall. Must try! 🙂
Below are some of the photos we had. Enjoy!
P.S. You will enjoy more if you go to Sumo Niku and try it for yourself. 😀
If we want to have an authentic Italian food fix, we go to Mama Lou’s BF Homes. We have also dined in their Solenad and Evia branches but what sets the BF Homes branch stand out among the other branches?
First, it is closer to our residence at around 2-3 kilometers, just a 15 minute drive.
Second, it has the homey ambiance from the alfresco dining area up to their second floor. I frequently see a lot of customers in their senior years which attests that the place matches with their prime taste – quiet, cozy and vintage. I am just in my early 30’s but I think I am getting old haha. I usually want to be in a relax and quiet place when dining. I am done with partying, I guess. 😀 The alfresco area is something that I want to have in my dream house. The fairy lights hung on the ceiling and the dainty plants around the garden are so relaxing and refreshing.
Third, their foods are all delicious. One thing that makes me full even before our orders arrive is their hot herb bread they serve with olive oil and vinaigrette dip (i suppose). The bread is so soft and the vinaigrette complements the taste. It was already filling but of course, we still have the belly capacity for the main event. Haha
My 4 year old picky-eater son’s favorite is the Truffle Mac & Cheese. I can still remember the first time I tasted it, explosion of flavors in my mouth that sent me to heavens (I’m a sucker for cheese) 😀 That explains why my son liked it so much.
You can order their pizza with 2 flavors in one (half on half) that I super liked, able to enjoy 2 different flavors for the price of one (whichever has the higher price). Our favorite flavors are Mama Lou’s Special and their All Meat pizzas. I have tried the other flavors and everything tastes great. Plus the Alfalfa sprouts and my favorite Arugula that goes well with the pizzas.
Their Beef Salpicao is also our favorite, the soft and tender beef trimmings in the garlicky soy sauce. Oh so yummy!
My sons would always try something sweet whenever we eat and Mama Lou’s does not disappoint. They have their selection of cake slices and desserts that any sweet tooth would love.
Mama Lou’s is a place where you can bring your whole family because you are sure that everyone’s taste can be catered. My parents would usually criticize the food afterwards but not in Mama Lou’s. They only have good words and adoration for this resto which gives them good memories and dining experience in return.
The staff, I must say are friendlier in BF branch. I don’t have not so good comments with Solenad and Evia but I just felt more at home with the original.
The rest of the recent photos I took were posted below while the first few visits were posted on my Instagram.
Nothing compares to the warmth of a house turned into a restaurant. Just like the warmth of a Mother to her family. ❤
